Chatswood Library

Changes at Chatswood Library from 19/03/20

Please note measures Council is taking in accordance with federal and state government health departments advice to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

This will involve some changes to service delivery at the library. If you are unsure about what these measures mean for you please ask our library staff.

 

Social Distancing

This library is practicing social distancing. Social distancing means we reduce the number of close physical and social contacts we have with one another;

  • The library will have a temporary cap of 100 people under the roof at one time.
  • We will be undertaking very regular counts to ensure we are meeting this requirement.
  • We are encouraging people to stay for up to an hour only, so that others in the community can share use the facility
  • The available furniture for patrons has been reduced to ensure the required distances can be maintained
  • Public PCs will no longer be available as we cannot ensure the hygiene standards of the keyboard /mouse at each work station
  • Staff members will check out items for you
  • If customers need to use the catalogue, this can be accessed via their phone or a staff member can assist
  • The number of people permitted in a room will be modified to ensure the recommended 1.5m social distancing practices can be applied.

 

Hygiene

Increased cleaning at this venue has been implemented.

Customers should follow the NSW Health guidelines and continue normal hygiene practices.

Ku-ring-gai libraries

Please be advised that from Friday 20 March all Ku-ring-gai libraries will be operating with reduced opening times and restricted services.

 

All libraries will open at the same time, modified closing times for each day are listed below

 

Gordon LibraryWeekdays 9.00am to 3.00pmSaturday and Sunday 9.30am – 3.00pm
Turramurra LibraryWeekdays 9.30am to 3.00pm

Saturday  9.30am to 3.00pm

Sunday  2.00-3.00pm

St Ives LibraryWeekdays 9.30am to 3.00pm

Saturday  9.30am to 3.00pm

Sunday  9.30 am to 12.30pm

Lindfield LibraryWeekdays 9.30am to 3.00pmSaturday  10.00am to 1.00pm

 

During the hours of operation, the library services will be limited to loans and returns only. Senior students may be impacted as there will be no study rooms for booking at Gordon Library and Wi-Fi will be unavailable at all Ku-ring-gai libraries until further notice.

 

All students will still have remote access to our full range of e-resources listed below

  • e-books,
  • e-audio
  • e-magazines
  • e-graphic novels
  • e-newspapers
  • online music and movies
  • information databases
