Working Bee

Our first Working Bee for the year took place on Friday 17 February. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon to spend in the school grounds, as the enthusiastic volunteers got quickly to work weeding the garden beds and distributing new sand and tanbark to every corner of the school. There was a genuine sense of teamwork and comradery as parents, students and even some kindergarteners joined forces. A big thank you to everybody who helped out on the day given the short notice. We hope you enjoy the improvements made to the yards and look forward to seeing many more families get involved at our Term 2 Working Bee.

Clean Up Australia Day

Last Friday, 3 March, Jells Park Primary participated in the annual Clean Up Australia Day activities. Students cleaned up several areas including the school grounds, the surrounding school fences, Petronella Avenue parks, Jells Park walkway (beside Caulfield Grammar) and Jells Park (Ferntree Gully Rd entrance at the end of Mary Avenue). Our Environment Captains enthusiastically organised all the resources for the day and distributed them to the classes and communicated with each Level about the day. Then on the day, they collected all the rubbish from each year level, weighed it and stored it ready for pick up. The total rubbish collected was 25kg. Thanks everyone for all your hard work.
