Curriculum Matters

Music 

The year has started off well in music with many students excited about the prospect of playing instruments. The Level 6's are learning drums using lap and chair drumming to practice quietly. The Level 4's & 5's are learning the ukulele using the TAB clef. They are learning individual notes this term and will learn chords next term. The Level 3's have been brushing up on their Treble Clef reading, using the chime bars. They will start recorder shortly. The Level 2's have also been playing chime bars and in the next few weeks I will bring out the bigger glockenspiels. The Level 1's have been brushing up on last years' learning using percussion instruments. Foundation has been learning about the beat and how to use and understand their voices. All students are having fun and enjoying these new skills.
