For the love of reading

Premier's Reading Challenge

The Premier's Reading Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely.

A celebration morning tea was held in the Library recently, to recognise student ahcievement  in completing the 2018 Premiers Reading Challenge.

To complete the Challenge, students are required to read 20 books between the months of March and August. This year,  46 students were successful in achieving this challenge.  Certificates presented to them by our Head Teacher English, Ms Felicity Wicks at the morning tea.

Students from our Support Unit always achieve the goal of the Challenge and they were very excited to receive their awards from our Teacher Librarian, Mrs Green, at a Friday assembly.

Special mention must be made of Nickolas Grebic and Cheyenne Cooper, both in Year 10 2019, who received PRC medals for having successfully participated in the Challenge for every year since Year 3 to Year 9 (inclusive).

Such an amazing effort, and one that we are very proud of.

The 2019 Challenge Continues has begun.   See Library staff for any questions on how you can be involved.
