Secondary Campus Report

From the Secondary Campus

Our fifteen Year 10 Woodwork students have attended their first day of off-site learning at Epping Polytechnic.  After an induction and an OHS session, the students moved straight in to their first project and were engaged throughout the day. This is a significant investment to enable our students to experience vocational training and learning in a trade setting. The feedback from the students has been extremely positive and heralds a new beginning for our school as we develop senior school curriculum programs with further education in the outer north. The students will also be completing studies at the Heidelberg campus over their journey. We wish them every success with this outstanding opportunity and I am sure they will lay the foundations for a fruitful relationship for us for many years to come.

Our outward focus extends to studies in the MAD Dance troupe where a joint initiative between Lalor North Secondary College will be initiated this year encouraging dancers from both schools to engage and develop a piece exploring a social issue facing youth today.  The Australian Ballet will do a workshop for both schools at our school to enhance the learning. This piece will then be choreographed and performed for the respective schools. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students as we work outwardly to further cement our reputation as a leader in the Arts in the region.

School Shoes -Just a reminder to families that a shoe blitz is active in our school.  Please check the diary for details and contact your Home Group teacher if there are any questions or concerns.

This is Census Week for student attendance. If your child has been absent please contact the Home Group teacher with appropriate information for the school absence. All schools are mandated by the Department of Education to have a reason for every student day of absence.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.
