Primary Campus Report

From the Primary

Campus Principal

With an extremely busy week behind us, our focus moves to a new week with new adventures. This week has seen a number of personal best efforts from our students on the Primary Campus.

Over the next few weeks, we will focus on the happenings across two year levels. This week we will focus on our Preps and Year Five cohorts.

Preps

Our Preps continue to not only settle into school life but thrive being in a supportive environment created by our teachers. They have continued to work on learning to say and identify their letter sounds in Literacy. During Numeracy the prep students have been learning to write and recognise numbers 1-10, as well as making them with concrete materials. They have enjoyed meeting and spending time with their Year Four buddies who are an excellent support to them outside in the yard.

Year Five

Last week the Year Fives invited parents and friends to join us for an Inquiry session where the students surveyed them about the values they believe are most important as a member of the Lakes community. Parents and friends were unanimous in their responses with our most important values being

Respect, Honesty, Equality

It was a wonderful afternoon and students learnt a lot about what is most important to our community, the results sparked a great discussion in our classroom.

We thank our parents and friends for attending and assisting the Year Five cohort.

Our upcoming Parent Helpers course will take place on Friday the 13th and 20th of March on our Primary Campus staff room from at 9:00 am-10:00 am. If parents are interested in attending these training days, notes can be picked up from the front office and must be returned by March 6th.  A massive thank you to Leah who continues to give up her time to provide the best opportunities for our students and parents.

A reminder that our Mobile Dentist Van will be on site from Monday 16th March until Friday 27th March 2020. Notes have gone out to students.

This is bulk billed dental examination and treatment for students under the child dental benefit scheme (if eligible). These permission notes need to be filled out and returned to school by Tuesday 10th March. Thank you Happy Smiles for providing this service for our school community.

Just a reminder to families that a shoe blitz is active in our school. Please ensure that students have the correct all-black shoes whilst at school. Please contact your Home Group teacher if there are any questions or concerns.

Have a great weekend.
