A note about extra-curricular LSE opportunities

Thank you to our exam provision parent-helpers, Kathy Bradford and Linda Tysoe!

LSE Staff extend our thanks, to Mrs Kathy Bradford to Mrs Linda Tysoe. These wonderful Mums joined the HSC Presider’s team to provide our boys with reader assistance to our Year 12 students with approved provisions, during their HSC Exam block. The boys involved have expressed their particular thanks in the face of this final and important exam block. We are very grateful for your assistance, thank you.

If other parents and carers are able to volunteer their time, and are interested in being an exam provision parent-helper during the upcoming exam blocks in Weeks 4 and 5 this term, please visit our volunteers page on the SPX website: http://www.spx.nsw.edu.au/community/dsp-default.cfm?loadref=2266 , or contact Joanne Raheb-Mol, LSE Coordinator, via email: JRahebMol@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au

To maintain your son’s eligibility for exam provisions and student support in 2019, please provide updated medical information on your son’s mental health and learning needs

The Learning Support and Enrichment (LSE) Department is responsible for gathering the necessary details (latest diagnosis or doctor’s report, or review letter etc.) for the purposes of reviewing (or registering your son for) exam provisions, and for the upcoming NSW Census data compilation in February 2019. This is a biannual, mandatory government census, involving the collection of information from all schools and families nationally, to identify and fund schools to provide support for your child. If the school is not aware of your son’s individual support needs, then we are unable to provide learning or counselling support, and are limited in our ability to grant exam provisions.

To assist us with this task, we ask that you please check your son’s latest medical documentation for an updated diagnosis or therapy update (or arrange to get one from his treating health practitioner or psychologist) and send it in to the College, or via PDF scan as and directly email to Joanne Raheb-Mol, LSE Coordinator, on JRahebMol@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au (this includes learning difficulties and mental health and related conditions, for which your son may need support or provisions assistance). You may also wish to post a copy to the school, or deliver to our front office, or reception desk.
