NHS String Orchestra
On Wednesday 5 July, the Nossal String Orchestra performed in the Hawthorn Arts Centre for the Victorian School Music Festival. We performed ‘This is me’ from The Greatest Showman, ‘In the Steppes of Central Asia’ by Borodin and ‘Waltz’ from Coppelia.
Mr Lim, Mr Patterson and everyone in the string orchestra worked strenuously to prepare the orchestra for the event. After many months of practice, the string orchestra achieved a silver medal in the Victorian School Music Festival. There were several other schools performing, (Bendigo South East College, Blackburn High School and Waverley Christian College) which were engaging and enjoyable to listen to.
After the performance the adjudicator, (Mr Soo Han) came onstage and conducted the orchestra and gave us tips on how to improve our playing. Both performing and listening to what the other schools have prepared was a wonderful experience.
