Visual & Performing Arts

September has already been an exciting month for the Visual and Performing Arts.
We kicked off with Talent Quest on Friday the 1st of September. The event was a huge success. Spectators (made up of students, parents, and teachers) witnessed acts ranging from solo singers and duets, to dance ensembles, and beatboxing. Even the staff put together a dance routine which received thunderous applause!
A huge congratulations go to our winner Camilla Marinelli and to the acts who received a Judge’s Choice award: Marielle Lopez, Nina Pombuena, Romely Ilagan, Ariane Lee, Adrian Aliphon, Nicola Miranda, EJ Libang, Alex, Caitlyn, Lorenzo, John, Daniel and Obrah, and Katelyn Refalo.
A very big thank you to our judging panel: Chloe Palmer, Jwan Kada, Allison Caruana and Maverick Sequira.
An even bigger thank you goes to Morgana Jones, and all of the students who donate their time setting up for the event. Thanks to the dedicated work of these individuals Talent Quest ran smoothly and was a wonderful experience.
Music and Sound Production:
The VET Music and Sound Production students have had a busy term with concerts and preparing for exams. The Solo night held in the Crate on September 24th was a great follow-up to our performance at Wrangler Studios the week before. The quality of performances has been fantastic and all the students should be proud of what they have achieved. We have also seen some quality performances at lunchtime and in other events around the school. Coming up, we have the Year 1 Music Showcase on September 20, the FINAL Year 2 music performance on the 18th September and much more.
We would also like to recognise the hard work of all the Sound Production students who have gone above and beyond this year to produce some great events and support all of the performers.
Media:
The Media department held the second annual CRC Sydenham Film Night. The night as a whole was a showcase of all of the Media students’ work with films being shown to a captivated audience . This included some amazingly well designed and executed print pieces as well.
Exams:
We wish all our students the best for their performance exams.
All students are reminded to practice or rehearse daily and to be taking all performance opportunities and feedback on board. Students will have access to the Performing Arts spaces over the holidays to rehearse and prepare for their exams. See Morgana for more details.
