Student Absences

An absence from any class is considered to be an “unapproved absence”, except for the following circumstances that will allow for an “approved absence”:

  • A medical certificate that complies with the guidelines of the Australian Medical Association regarding the period of illness accompanied by a note or phone call from a parent/guardian is provided;
  • A statutory declaration made by parents/guardians is provided. This may be used only to approve an absence due to illness for a single day and only if it is provided to the College on the school day following the absence. A statutory declaration will not be accepted to approve absences for classes where a School Assessed Coursework task (SAC) is scheduled.

Rail Closures

Coming up in October, there will be some off-peak rail closures between Sunbury and Watergardens to allow level crossing removal project works over the rail line.

Buses will replace trains from 8.30pm each night on Tuesday 10, Wednesday 11 and Tuesday 17 October between Watergardens and Sunbury stations. Stopping-all-stations train replacement bus services will be provided between Watergardens and Sunbury stations during this time. Customer journey times may increase by up to 30 minutes.

Coaches will replace some evening V/line services on the Bendigo line on Tuesday 10, Wednesday 11 and Tuesday 17 October. Customer journey times may increase by up to 30 minutes.

While lift upgrade works take place, there will be no lift access at Watergardens Station. Customers requiring lift access are to disembark at St Albans Station where a taxi will be provided to Watergardens Station.

Year 12 Formal 2017

Textbook Return

Year 12 students were provided with novels and textbooks on loan from the library during Transition Program at the end of 2017.   Students are permitted to keep their books until the day of their final exam.  We request that English novels are returned on the day of the English exam and that all other texts are returned when students have completed exams in each subject.

We ask for the assistance of parents/guardinas in reminding your son or daughter to return their textbooks and novels so that we can, in turn, loan them to the upcoming Year 12’s later in the year.

Loan notices will be distributed to Year 12 students early next term. At the conclusion of the Year 12 exam period, families will be posted an invoice if there are any College resources that have been provided on loan but not returned.

If you have any queries about this issue, please do not hesitate to contact Rita in the Learning Common.

Thanking you in anticipation.
