Bradman Reflection

From the Coordinators
Term 2 has seen Bradman hit the ground running. With Retreat in week 1, the GAT coming up in June and mid-year exams for year 11 looming there has been no time for a gentle start, and the students of the Bradman Cluster have taken it in their stride!
We wish to take this opportunity to remind students to make sure they are:
Staying on top of their homework
Planning revision time into their study timetable
Getting adequate sleep
In correct College winter uniform
Term 2 is shaping up to be a good one - keep up the good work Bradman!

From the Leaders
Hello everyone and welcome back! As we begin the term, our Year 11’s will head off to Retreat where they will deepen their bond with their faith, as well as get a chance to meet new people in their cluster. As this term begins, I would like to thank everyone for their support and help with all cluster activities, feast days and community engagement. I hope that this term brings you all joy, happiness and plenty of hard work!

Cluster Sport
Cluster Sports for Bradman in 2018 kicked off to a great start in Term 1, providing a glimpse into what the winning culture of the Bradman Cluster looks like. Last term the chosen sport was Ultimate Frisbee and Bradman did not disappoint, winning all regular season games to position themselves as the top undefeated team amongst all Clusters. Both Bradman teams (Boys and Girls) came out in full force and dominated in convincing wins over Winton, Chang and Truganini, whilst escaping the jaws of defeat with narrow victories against MacKillop and Dunlop. As Bradman’s winning ways continued, we had booked a sport in the Cluster Sport Grand Final facing the red hot Dunlop. As both cluster teams fought it out until the end, it was Dunlop who had escaped with a narrow 1 point victory and secured the Term 1 title. However this was nothing to be disappointed about as Bradman this year has seen the whole cluster get into the Bradman Spirit and either participate in playing in one of the two teams or cheer on the sidelines where the Cluster’s presence is felt. Bradman’s sporting performance in 2018 has kicked off to the right start, and I cannot wait to see what this term and the rest of the year has in stall for the Cluster in Cluster Sports. Go Bradman!

Bradman Retreat
On the 19th and 20th of April the Bradman retreat occured. It was a time of reverence and reflection, as well as a time to get to know each other and bond together as a cluster. On the first day, Bradman students completed a series of activities including: High ropes, Archery, Leap of Faith, Raft Building, Mountain Biking and the Giant Swing. All activities were designed to push students to challenge themselves beyond what they thought they could ever achieve. Many students made new accomplishments and reached new heights- literally! On the second day, students gathered and produced a song about Bradman within homegroups and performed it in front of their fellow cluster peers! The performances were fantastic and it is safe to say, Bradman definitely has the most creative and entertaining students of all! Finally, a liturgy mass was conducted to conclude the retreat and Bradman students reflected on a special person close to them that they would like to pray for. Overall, the retreat was an amazing experience that brought the whole cluster together looking forward to what the rest of the year has in store!

Study Tip of the Month - Plan your time
It helps to have some plans in motion so you can make the most of your study time.
Set alarms – Set alarms to remind you about your study plans. A regular reminder keeps you honest and your plans on track.
Use a wall planner – Stick a calendar or wall planner up so you can see it whenever you're studying. Mark it up with important dates, like exams and assignment due dates. Use it to block out your regular study timetable too.
Make to-do lists – Lists break tasks down into manageable chunks. At the start of the week, make a list of the things that you need to have done by the end of the week. Make a to-do list at the start of each study session too, so that you're clear about what you need to be doing with your time.
Set time limits – Before you start your study session, have a look at your to-do list and give yourself a set time to spend on each task. If you don't get something done in the set time, consider whether it's the best use of your time to keep going with it, or to start working on something else.
