Athletics Carnival

College Athletics Carnival
In 2019, the Endeavour College Athletics Carnival was held again at the SA Athletics Stadium in Mile End. The day was filled with a lively atmosphere and intense competition between all eight Villages. Students demonstrated courage throughout the day by participating and earning points for their Village on the track and in the field. In total fifteen College records were broken in 2019, with many long-standing records from 2009 and 2006 being broken this year. See Sport News page for details of records broken.
Congratulations to all record breakers and to the individual champions who scored the highest total points from their year level and gender. The Endeavour College Athletics Shield was awarded to Litchfield with a total of 1726 points for the day, while Mawson won the Village Spirit award for their loud cheering and colourful dress.
Changes to the program meant a change in format for the Village Games which were held during the day rather than at the end of the day. This allowed for extra time to be given to the track and the first running of our the Endeavour College staff vs students 8x50m Running Relay. This inaugural event saw the teachers secure the win by a convincing margin. After being unsuccessful in the under and over relay at the Swimming Carnival this year, students and staff are tied at one all. Both sides are eager to settle the score later in the year during the staff vs students matches during Health and Physical Education week.
A big thank you also goes out to the parents and past students who gave their time to help on the day. Parents and old Collegians helped on many of the field events including High Jump and Triple Jump. Without their help the day would not have been the success it was.
