Careers Update

Term 2 has started how term 1 finished off…very busy with loads of Careers activities happening!

Year 12 interviews

During week 2 of Term 2 Year 12 students were asked to make an appointment to come and speak about what it is they intend on doing in 2020 and beyond. Students were asked to complete an information sheet about what it is they would like to be doing next year, support needed, or concerns they may have. This process is very important to determine what support or assistance students may need coming to the end of their school life. To date 106 students have participated, which has been a fantastic response. Students will receive a summary of our discussions which may include but not limited to resource links, recommendations, and resources to support career options and resume suggestions.

TIS (Tertiary Information Session) day

This week our Year 12's attended a TIS day at Federation University. A collective of Universities, TAFE Institutes, and Independent Tertiary Colleges helped our students prepare for future careers. Year 12 students attend a presentation about VTAC and transitioning to tertiary education after high school, they then had an opportunity to meet and gain information from a range of tertiary institutions.
