Senior School Report

Term Two

Hello from the Senior School,

As we progress through Term 2, we are well and truly into what we can consider the ‘Engine Room:’ of the year. This is the time when the most successful students really put their heads down and start to lift the bar. The effort that the students are putting in now will be well rewarded come the end of the year, with strong results that our students will be proud of.

Coming up we have a number of major events occurring in the Senior School:

  • Mid-Year Exams – June 6th to June 13th
  • GAT – June 12th
  • Senior School Formal – June 14th

Mid-Year Exams

Mid-Year Exams will affect all Senior School students, with exams occurring for all VCE classes. VCAL classes will run as per usual during this time, so VCAL students will attend school normally. The only exception to this will be is the day of their VCE exam. Their VCE exam will take priority over attending the classes during their exam. A copy of the exam timetable is below as well as on the College’s Facebook page.

GAT

The GAT is a vital event for all students studying a Units 3 & 4 subject. This is compulsory, and is what we can consider our ‘insurance policy’ for our VCE students. The purpose of the GAT is to ensure that if something unplanned was to occur, stopping a student completing end of year exams, they would still be able to receive an ATAR. GAT results are used to generate a score for the unfortunate student. We cannot predict things like accidents and medical emergencies, but the GAT is there to help.

Senior School

Senior School formal will take place at the conclusion of exams. This will be held at Turfside Function Centre, Moe, on Friday June 14th. Students will not be required at school that day, as it is a student free day. Tickets will be $40 and will be available for purchase from Thursday May 23rd from Julie.

Regards,
