Chess Tournament

Congratulations to the team of students who participated in yesterday’s Girls’ Chess Tournament at Balwyn North Primary School.  In an exciting competition with students from seven schools, after seven rounds of chess Mount View finished the competition in first place on 24.5 points.  They were followed by Balwyn North PS on 19.5 and MLC on 18.5 points.

Well done to the entire team who supported each other throughout the competition, especially with support for five girls who were competing in their very first tournament.  At the completion Chloe C received a gold medal for the best player in the tournament, while Jessica P and Melody T received silver medals. The five students to receive gold medals for the winning team were Chloe C, Jessica P, Melody T, Aparna M and Emily W.  Once again the entire team of fourteen students were fine ambassadors for our school.
