Dear Families

We are almost at the end of 2022! Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would be ending the year learning in separate sites and unable to celebrate our achievements on the grounds of our school.

As I have said throughout this event, the buildings don't matter, people do and I hope that you have felt that!

Staffing 2023:

We will be having a significant staffing change for 2023.

  • Fiona Oakley will retire at the end of the year. She has been a large part of our community for a long time and it has been a pleasure to work with her this year.
  • Emily Snowdon has been offered a position at St Monica's  in Wodonga. This is closer to family and we wish her all the best as she continues teaching.

There will be an opportunity to farewell and recognise Fiona and Emily's contribution to St Joseph's at mass on Wednesday 14th December 1t 10.15 am.

  • Lauren Sortino and Peter Shorthouse have requested a year's leave. The last 3 years have taken its toll on many, so we hope they have a great break and we look forward to welcoming them back to St Joseph's in 2024.
  • Fran Bennett and Jerrod Davison have requested a reduction in work time. They will be a part of the specialist program in 2023 and we are thrilled they will remain on staff working across the school.
  • Yvette Lupa has also requested a reduction in work time. She will remain in Grade 5/6 teaching 4 days a week. I will teach 5/6 for 1 day a week.

We welcome the following teachers to St Joseph's:

  • Eliza McNamara
  • Elli Williams
  • Amanda Rogers
  • Michelle Mannes

As we begin to take possession of the Junior wing of our school, I would like to thank those that have worked incredibly hard to make this happen.

  • Catholic Education Sandhurst
  • Bay Building
  • LINX Restoration
  • MUNDIE constructions
  • TEMPTATION Living and Landscape
  • Diocese of Sandhurst (Fr Caldow) (use of car park)

As we conclude PHASE 2 Learning we must thank:

  • Craig Simpson and the staff at OLSH for welcoming our F - 2 children and staff
  • Brian Turner and staff of CMC Junortoun for making the 3 - 6 children and staff welcome
  • Newton's Bus Lines, Fords Buses and Skylight Buses - they have transported our children safely to and from these learning sites safely. They've greeted our children every morning and supported our staff to load buses.

Finally, to our families and friends, our greatest supporters. Thank you for your patience at this challenging time. Thanks for your confidence in us to re-engage your child/children
