A message from the Principal

Celebration of the Arts 2022

We are now just under a week away from 'No Planet Bee' - our Celebration of the Arts event for 2022.

The school is currently a hive of activity with regular rehearsals, impromptu dance and song practices inside classrooms and the finishing touches being added to hundreds of different artworks ready for the art show.

We ask that all students and families come along on the evening - all children are involved in musical performances on the stage and have artwork on display in the Performing Arts room. We would hate for them to miss out after putting in so much hard work in class.

The evening is our major curriculum celebration of the year and is also a wonderful community event. As well as the musical performances and artworks, SKIPPA, our Parent's Association, also run a number of food and drink stalls on the night. Please see the 'SKiPPS needs your help' page of this newsletter to sign up for a volunteer slot during the evening.

For those families new to our school since 2019, COTA is a little different to a normal school show or performance. The class musical and dance performances take place in the quadrangle throughout the evening and there are gaps in between to circulate, check out the art show, socialise, eat, drink and have fun.

Instead of grabbing a seat at the start of the evening and staying there, we encourage you to get up close in the quadrangle for your child's performances and then take a step back to allow others to do the same when it is their child's class turn.

To help you plan your night out better, the running order of performances is as follows;

  • 5:10pm - Orchestra
  • 5:30pm - Introduction, Welcome to Country, 5/6 H & M, Foundation
  • 6:20pm - General Choir and Year 1/2 students
  • 7:00pm - Year 3/4 Students (instruments) and 5/6L & 5/6S
  • 7:30pm - All Year 3/4 students.
  • 8:00pm - All Year 5/6 students.
  • 8.30pm - Staff performance

We encourage you to stay until the end and we should be finished by 8:45pm.

Fingers crossed for a warm and sunny evening.
