Weekend

Friday evening all students attended Brunswick Slot Car Racing where everyone enjoyed two rounds of racing! It was a close field with some potentially new Daniel Ricciardos being exposed. Max Wilson, Kandra Pense, Roy Slater and James Oremek each won their rounds.

Saturday morning a handful of students went off to Mandurah with Sparky to complete the practical component for the Skippers Ticket. Congratulations to them all for passing!  Most of the remaining students went on a town trip to Bunbury with John,  with just one staying behind to go to equine and mesmerise Sally with her equine skills.

Saturday late afternoon all students went into Bunbury.  First stop was Big Swamp Wetlands where everyone took the boardwalk to the hut out on the water and had sushi entrée.  Then on to Koombana North to play a spot of cricket and enjoyed pork sliders and pizza, which John expertly heated on the BBQ.  Everyone then headed to the cinema to watch the new release Black Panther – Wakanda Forever.

Sunday was the obligatory “slow day” with students relaxing, using the gym, riding  and apparently “studying”.  There was a quick town trip after lunch, before the trickle of returning students commenced.

A big thankyou to staff and students who have worked around the gymnasium being out of bounds for the majority of last week and early this week due to Graduation.  Thanks once again.

Weekly Activities

Monday night basketball saw the boys behind for the majority of the time.  They were down by 7 points with only a few minutes left, but gained the ascendancy and came away with a narrow win. The girls had mixed results across their games.

Year 11 Dinner

Our planned Year 11 dinner for Back Beach Restaurant in Bunbury unfortunately was unable to go ahead due to staffing difficulties.

Thank you to Sally, John and Heidi who have spent alot of time ringing around and following up on other venues that could accommodate us at short notice. Thankfully we were able to get in at The Crooked Carrot at Myalup where students and staff enjoyed a fabulous meal at an amazing venue for the night. We do this on the last night of the Year 11 Boarders being here with us before they head off for the holiday period.

Driving Policy

Parents/guardians and students please be aware that the 2023 Student Driving Policy is available for collection and signing. These forms are attached and are also available to download on the College website.  All forms must be read and signed by both the students and the parents/guardians before being submitted and approved by the College prior to any vehicle coming to site for 2023.

My suggestion is that these forms are signed and returned prior to departure from the College for the year. One less thing to worry about next year.
