News from Around the School

Lunch Order Update

Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts with us regarding lunch orders.  We met with the company, KingWill Catering and are very pleased to announce that they are able to accommodate our request to change the day. The only other day available for them to offer our school was Wednesday which we have agreed to.   Whilst we know it won't please everyone, we do hope this will be more suitable for many.  It will continue on a Monday for the rest of the year (final lunch order day will be Monday 12 December) then first lunch order day next year will be Wednesday 8 February.  Ordering cut off time will change from 8:30am to 8:00am.

The company also took on board comments regarding food not being hot enough so they are trialling a new system to improve this.

A tasty, new menu item will be introduced, "Mexican Rice".  Don't forget students need to bring cutlery from home.  Plastic, disposable cutlery is not supplied, nor stored at school as we wish to promote environmentally-friendly practices.

The school will continue to promote healthy eating and the P&F may offer more meal order fundraising initiatives in the future such as sushi, toasties and hot cross buns.

Reminder from the Office

If children are to be picked up before the end of school (for medical or dental appointments etc) parents should advise the teacher via Seesaw. When picking up children on such occasions, parents should report to the office and sign their child out on the iPad and the child will be called to the office. **To avoid disruption to classrooms please note that if children need to be collected early they should be picked up at the end of a learning session i.e. 10:50am or 1:40pm. This is so that lessons are not interrupted and children can be easily located in their classrooms. If you come to pick up your child during recess or lunch play, it can be difficult to track them down quickly** It is the school’s preference that all appointments are made after school hours or during school holidays where possible.

Don't Forget...

Parents, you are able to view the school's google Community Calendar of events. Please ensure you check in regularly to keep up to date with school happenings. Refer to the final section of this newsletter 'Calendar & Events' for further information and the link. The QoP Community Calendar can also be accessed via the school website.
