Life Education Van

Healthy Harold and Kristy

Healthy Harold and the Life Education Van visited Niangala Public School students today - Monday 22 May.

Healthy Harold arrived in his truck with his very knowledgeable friend Kristy.  Here are the reflections from the children:

Sophie: I learnt that red blood cells take oxygen around the body and water also travels around the body through our arteries to help our muscles and other organs stay healthy.

Valerie: Did you know that vapes have tar in them and small not well-made batteries? These batteries can explode and cause burns on people's hands and faces. Vapes and cigarettes can cause damage to your eyesight, your brain, your hands and your internal organs and teeth.

Chaise: The tar from vapes and cigarettes can stick to your lungs over time, and it can become difficult to breathe. When this happens, it can also cause coughing and cancer.

Lindsay: What I liked in Healthy Harold was that he fell asleep because he was so tired after his run.  He was running because Zippo wasn't there and he needed to fill in for him.  We learnt about body parts, the smallest muscle in your body is in your ear.

Chanse: Today in Healthy Harold I learnt that the biggest muscle in the body is our bum muscle but its real name is gluteus maximus. Another fact I learnt is that the red veins pumps out blood and the blue veins takes your blood back to the heart.
