On Thursday the 11th of May, our Year 3-6 students attended Boort Oval to participate in the Calder Winter Sports. Students were mixed in with other schools from the district to play Netball, AFL 9’s, Soccer, Minkey and Newcomb. All students had a great day with a few of them winning their Grand Finals. A big thank you to our staff and Neve, Beau, Amelia, Declan and Charlotte for assisting with the umpiring and coaching on the day. Thank you to Darcy McCallum for his organisation of the day.
PE News from Mr P & Miss Milne
Miss M’s Primary PE Student of the Fortnight is: Blaz Cramp. Blaz was an excellent leader in his netball team. He led by example and ensured his teammates were getting a go. Well done, Blaz Cramp! Please see Miss Milne, to collect your prize.
Year 10 Golf
In PE this term, our Year 10 students have started a Golf Unit. Each Monday, students get to go to the Wedderburn Golf Club during our practical lesson. We have looked at skill development, different club use, golf etiquette, golf terminology and scoring. This week we introduced a Golden Putter Award. This award goes to the student that can finish their putt the closest from a location selected by Mr P. The first winner of our Golden Putter Award went to Lillian Stephenson. Well done Lillian on your effort and persistence with technique.

Year 7 – Blindfolded Obstacle Courses
In PE over the past 2 weeks, Year 7 students have been learning about the importance of communication and feedback. Students had to design obstacle courses using different PE equipment and take a blindfolded partner successfully through their course using good communication skills.

Mr P’s Secondary Student of the Fortnight
This fortnight, the award goes to Nada Zec in Year 7. She consistently displays our SWPBS focus values in practicals such as participation, effort and staying on task. In our health classes she will extend herself in written responses, doing more than the minimum expectation. Well done Nada!
