PRINCIPAL UPDATE
Congratulation to Amy, Corey and Sophia on the arrival of Paige Valerie Van Braam.
Lightening Premiership
Thank you to all volunteers, staff and students for another successful Lightning Premierships last Tuesday. Students gave it their all and enjoyed the day playing against other local schools. I would like to highlight that a teacher reached out from another school commending Chilwell and a particular team when they needed an extra player due to injury and Chilwell students volunteered to play on the opposing team. This showed great sportsmanship and makes me very proud of our students.
Open Morning/ Toasties
Our Open morning was a huge success, and I thank everyone for popping into classrooms, specialist classes throughout the morning. It was great to see parents engaging in Performing Arts, Visual Arts and reading lessons, along with math games and PE. I have attached some great photos.
We also enjoyed toasties from the Cheer Toastie Truck. We raised $800 from this, and look forward to investigating, purchasing, and installing some football goals for all to enjoy. Can I please thank all of the parent volunteers that assisted in the toastie truck and supported this cause.
A very enthusiastic bunch, that were well and truly ‘cheesed out’ by the end of their shift!
Illness
There is many staff and students out with illness at the moment and we continue to encourage students to stay at home if unwell. It certainly is the winter season with colds and flu and we are wanting to minimise the spread of this as much as possible. We thank you in advance for your support.
Uniform
In addition to this, I am seeing an increasingly large number of students wearing black leggings, track pants etc. to school each day that is not part of our school uniform. I ask all families to ensure students are wearing our uniform proudly with the correct uniform items. We will be reviewing our uniform and general appearance policies later in the year as we commence the process of engaging a new uniform supplier for 2024. We have multiple uniform items available at the office for sale and ask that where possible families are purchasing these items from the admin team.
A big thank you to Newtown Grocers in Stinton Ave
for sponsoring Nude Food this year.
Donating a $5 voucher each week for a
lucky winner to be announced in assembly on Fridays.
Kind regards,
Meg
