St Patrick’s College Careers Expo on Monday 19 June for Years 10, 11 and 12 students.

 

A reminder that we will be hosting the St Patrick’s College Careers Expo on Monday 19 June for Years 10, 11 and 12 students. All students have received their permission notes last week (link provided below) and need to return their notes by Friday 9 June. It is required that at least one parent attend

 

 

The evening will be broken down into two sessions:

  • Session 1 will commence at 6:30 PM and conclude at 7:30 PM. 
    To be attended by all students in Berg, Coghlan and Crichton.
  • Session 2 – will commence at 7:45 PM and conclude at 8:45 PM. 
    To be attended by all students in Hanrahan, Hickey, and Rice.

At the Careers Expo we will have over thirty exhibitors from a range of institutions including universities, TAFE, Apprenticeship organisations, private colleges, industry representatives such as Engineers Australia and Surveying Careers, Australian Defence Force and NSW Police. We will also have thirty Old Boys who are currently completing university courses at various universities available to speak to any students that would like to know about the course they are undertaking.

Inside this week’s edition of In the Know with Careers, you will find information on the following: 

  • UAC – How much does it cost to study at university?
  • University of Newcastle (UON) – Joint Medical Program and how to apply, UON free Open Foundation course. 
  • University of NSW (UNSW) – Applications for the Portfolio Entry Early Conditional Offer Scheme close on 21 July – this is for courses in the Arts, Design and Architecture. 
  • University of NSW – Year 12 Information Evening on campus on 13 June or online on 15 June.
  • Torrens University - Early Entry Applications Now Open.
  • NECA Apprenticeships – Mid-year intake now open for Electrical apprenticeships and Data and Communications apprenticeships.
  • TAFE – Degrees in Applied Commerce, Information Technology (Network Security) and Fashion Design.
  • Australian College of Physical Education (ACPE) – Applications now open for early entry for courses that lead to careers in sport.
  • University of Wollongong (UOW) – Webinar on the UOW Early Admission scheme which also applies for entry at their Sydney campuses.
  • University of Sydney (USYD) – Bachelor of Design (Interaction Design), Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) and double degrees in nursing, USYD courses that requires Mathematics Advanced prerequisites, pathways to studying Law at USYD.
  • Private Colleges – ICMS (Business and Management), Jschool (Journalism), NIDA (Acting), AIE (game development, film, 3D animation and visual effects).
  • Australian Defence Force – applying for a gap year with the ADF.
