Co-curricular - Junior Sport
With the King’s Birthday long weekend fast approaching, it comes at a time when it is often needed. We have just come over the hump of the Winter season, having played six weeks straight. With very little interruptions this season so far, no doubt there are a few tired and sore bodies floating around the Junior School, and not just for the coaches. As we move towards the mid-year break, we ease the stress of training with some lighter weeks of training and play, as mentioned in last week’s article. Hopefully this gives the boys time to recover from the little niggles and injuries sustained throughout the first six weeks of the season.
Over the course of the long weekend, many clubs and associations hold carnivals and competitions. To all the boys in the Junior School competing over the long weekend, good luck. I hope you enjoy the time playing with friends, but please come back to us in one piece. For those not competing over the weekend, I hope you are able to rest, recover and enjoy your time with family and friends.
Training for Winter sport will resume as per the normal schedule on Tuesday 13 June, and the last round for Term 2 will be Saturday 17 June. There will be no training for any Junior School Winter team in Week 9 of this term. Training for Winter sport will re- commence on the first day back of Term 3, with the final three rounds to be played.
A reminder that the Junior School House Athletics Carnival will be held on Wednesday 21 June (Week 9) on Breen Oval. Parents/carers are more than welcome to come and watch for part or all day. Seating along Fraser Street will be available for spectators.
Wishing everyone a safe and relaxing King’s Birthday long weekend.
