Year 5/6 Team Shines at Da Vinci Decathlon 

On Tuesday, 23rd of May, the talented Year 5/6 team from Magill School showcased their intellectual prowess at the highly anticipated South Australian Da Vinci Decathlon held at St Peter's Girls School. The event, known for challenging young minds across various disciplines, saw these students go head-to-head with 26 other teams, and they certainly left a lasting mark on the competition.

 

The Da Vinci Decathlon is a rigorous academic competition that tests participants' knowledge, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities across ten diverse disciplines, including Mathematics, Science, English, Code-breaking, Art and Poetry, Engineering, Ideation, Creative Producers, Cartography, and Legacy. The event encourages lateral thinking, innovation, and collaboration among young students.

 

The Magill School team, comprising eight highly motivated and intellectually curious individuals, demonstrated exceptional talent throughout the day. With determination and a thirst for knowledge, they approached each challenge with enthusiasm, leaving no stone unturned.

 

Their brilliance was evident in Science, scoring third and in Engineering, scoring fourth. The team effortlessly solved complex problems and demonstrated their deep understanding of concepts, which astounded both judges and fellow competitors.

 

Teacher Victoria Belton expressed her admiration for the team's achievement, stating, "The Year 5/6 team from Magill School showed the values of dedication, teamwork, and intellectual curiosity. They have showcased their immense talent and brought great pride to our school."
