Head of Campus

I am delighted to step into the role of Head of Campus at the Secondary School for the next 18 months and thrilled to be working alongside such an incredible team of teachers and admin staff. My long association of over 17 years with the School has fuelled my passion for the innovative, authentic and globally-minded education that is Preshil, both as an educator and for my own children. While I am new to this role, I am not new to leadership, having spent the past seven years as the whole school Head of Music as well as 28 years as Director of my own music performance business.

When not at school I adore spending time with my family and friends, often sharing great food cooked by my husband Atilla. I am an avid runner, tennis player, skier, bike rider and hiker and take up every opportunity to engage in these activities as often as possible. I am an active professional musician, performing and practising as often as I can, and take great inspiration from attending concerts and shows. I also love to travel, so when borders reopen I hope to continue exploring the globe.

Throughout my time at Preshil I have seen much change, including leadership, and am a firm believer that change is a necessary and exciting part of progress and transformation. As a progressive school, Preshil lives up to its motto Courage to Question, always interrogating how, why and what we do in order to seek the ultimate path forward. I am excited to be part of the next phase of the Preshil story.

A warm welcome to our new staff

One of the most exciting aspects of being an IB World School is the exchange of expertise. Just as we farewell staff that take on pedagogical roles at home and abroad, we also welcome new teachers, some returning to Australia.

I am delighted to welcome Mark Harrington (DP Coordinator and TOK), Simon Gooding (Science and Chemistry), Veronica Fong (Individuals & Societies and Language & Literature), Rose Fearon (Music and Physical & Health Education) and Julia Strentz who joins us as Learning Support. We are so lucky to have this amazing group of educators, who bring many years of teaching and real world experience between them, joining our team. I can’t wait for the whole community to welcome and get to know them all.

Diary dates

Following are some diary dates you might like to make a note of:

Tuesday 20 July - we will be holding a Parent Information Night, 6pm for the MYP and 7pm for the DP. These two sessions are an excellent opportunity to meet our MYP Coordinator, Natalie Kunst, and DP Coordinator, Mark Harrington, as well as hear all about these wonderful programmes.

Thursday 29 July - from 5pm – 6pm we invite our whole community to get together for a winter warming event ‘Cold August (almost!) Night’ in the Cage at BK. Throw on the beanie, rug up, grab a snack/drink and bring a chair if you wish and enjoy each other's company while listening to some great music from our students.

Production time! - this year's Production of The Little Shop of Horrors is showing from Wednesday 4 - Friday 6 August at 7pm in the Kevin Borland Hall at Arlington. Please come along and support our drama and music students in this huge endeavour and have a night of fun and laughs.

Thursday 19 August – from 4pm - 6pm our Year 10 cohort is sharing their Personal Projects in an exhibition in the Library. This is a beautiful celebration of a year of hard work, so come do along and support our students.
