Middle School

Service Learning and Year Seven

Over the past semester, the Year Sevens have been busy in and around the community volunteering their time to help others. Students have been coaching and umpiring junior sport, babysitting, gardening for neighbours, timekeeping at parkrun, helping at the church creche, helping at a riding school and on the farm just to name a few. At a school level, each Year Seven Baudin student has spent three hours gardening and helping at the Gilcreek Scout Camp and Camfield students have spent their first hour of Term Two VACS mulching and raking at the same scout camp. So far, the Year Sevens of Great Southern Grammar have donated over 75 hours to the scout camp this year alone! It has been so heart-warming to see our students commit to helping others in the community. Special mentions go to Taylah Wisewould and Zoë Bascombe who have completed their school-based and community-based service-learning commitments already. Keep up the fantastic work Year Sevens!
