CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR FOUNDATION STUDENTS FOR REACHING

100 DAYS OF SCHOOL!

On Wednesday the 2nd of August our Foundation students celebrated 100 days of school in their classrooms. Our amazing Foundation teachers did an excellent job at preparing fun activities for the students and decorating their classrooms to celebrate the big day! The students spent their day making special crowns, doing lots of counting to 100, dancing, singing songs and sharing a picnic together. Congratulations again to our Foundation students!

Kids Cafe - By  Ece  And Goknur

What Is Kids Cafe?

Hi! Have you heard/remember breakfast club? Well, we are here to tell you that… The breakfast club has opened up again!! But this time it’s called “Kids Cafe”! We opened up Kids Cafe for kids who haven’t eaten breakfast yet. This cafe isn’t just a cafe for breakfast, it’s for kids to make new friends, build a community and have fun while being at school and eating breakfast.

Kids Cafe is open every Monday and Thursday from 8:20 to 8:45 am, Kids Cafe is located at the MPR (Multi-purpose room). The only way to get to Kids Cafe early is from the gate near the gym, we won’t open the gate from the roxy FoodWorks way because then people can think that they can play on the playground and hardcourts.

Who Are The Workers?

The workers are from SBB and one of them is from SAA.

Why Do You Think I Should Go Kids Cafe?

There are so many reasons to go to Kids Cafe! Firstly the workers there are so kind and patient (as a worker myself) secondly, there are so many options to choose from, for example, we have toast with many spreads, jam, butter, honey and then just plain toast. There are 2 drinks, (hopefully more in the future of Kids Cafe) water and milk! We also have cereal with many options!! Thirdly, this cafe is so big it can fit many kids in it!

Is The Cafe Big?

I know that this cafe is big and perfect for this school!! Finally, this cafe is just overall great! Not only can kids come in but so can parents! Parents get welcomed in kindly and can get severed coffee or tea! That way you and your parent/guardian/career can enjoy this cafe together! Who doesn’t want that?

How Busy Is Kids Cafe?

Kids Cafe gets busy now and then, so you can say the MPR is pretty much popular sometimes.

What Is Kids Cafe Motto?

The motto for kids cafe is “The toast is better at Kids Cafe!” (Credits/thanks to Buddy for that motto idea!) And guess what? The motto is not a lie because it does!!

Term 3 Science in Junior A

In Term 3 our Inquiry topic is water. After a long focus on generating questions to explore in Term 2, we are delighted that this term student questions are driving our science unit. Some student questions we have investigated so far include:

                                                  What is a liquid?

If something is a liquid, what do we call everything else?

How is water made and where does it come from?

How does water come from the clouds?

Are all liquids the same?

Why do some liquids pour slowly and some pour fast?

How does mixing things with water change things?

I know that water is a liquid. – Tala

People cannot make water. – Zaya

A liquid is something that can be poured. Liquids take different shapes. – Sophia

Some things dissolve in water. – Efe

Some things go soft in water. – Noah

Students have been developing the Science inquiry skills of posing and responding to questions, conducting investigations, observing changes closely, sorting information and representing their observations in words and diagrams.

Newsletter – Middle B Community Term 3

In the Middle B community we have been exploring different science experiments! We have loved becoming scientists and using our amazing science room for our experiments. As part of our experiments we make sure to predict what we think will happen, observe what happens and reflect on what we did well and can do better next time.

We have also been lucky enough to have a science incursion this term which was a great way to start off our science topic!
