Dear Parents and Guardians,

We all have our fingers crossed for our students competing in the district athletics 10/8/23.  The kids are really excited to represent our school so wishing good luck to all.

We have noticed a really big improvement in kids arriving on time ready for learning!!!  On time at our school means 8:50 am.  This is our ready to learn start so students can get themselves organised, putting bags away getting equipment ready and connecting with their teachers and peers.  This allows everyone to start promptly at 9 and not waste any learning time.  Well done everyone!!

The next thing we need to work together on is making sure we are here every day.

It is understandable to be away when we are sick or have a medical/dental appointment, however we are seeing reasons that are not acceptable.

For example:

  • the student’s birthday
  • staying home because a sibling is sick
  • staying away for the whole day when an appointment is booked for a short time in the morning or afternoon
  • weather conditions, for example too hot.
  • Student does not like an activity taking place at school

There are going to be always individual circumstances and considerations to be made and we totally understand that.  Together our aim should be between 100% and 95% attendance so that our kids have every opportunity to develop socially emotionally and academically.  In the coming weeks you may get an increase in calls form the office checking in and supporting families to get our kids here every day.
