"Stepping Beyond Limits: Jesus' Miraculous Walk on Water Inspires us to Embrace Faith and Overcome the Impossible in our lives"
Mathew 14: 22-33
In today’s Gospel, we learn about Peter’s faith in Jesus. Peter sees Jesus walking on water. He wants to be like Jesus. Listen to what happens when Peter momentarily gets afraid and doubts Jesus.
Having doubt means not fully trusting in God. When Peter becomes afraid and doubts Jesus, he begins to sink. Jesus reaches out and saves Peter. The disciples see that Jesus is truly the Son of God.
Jesus teaches us that we can trust him. Even when we feel doubtful or afraid, Jesus is with us.
The story of Jesus walking on water can serve as a symbol of faith and belief. It can remind us of the power of faith to overcome challenges and accomplish the seemingly impossible. In today's world, this can encourage people to have faith in their abilities, trust in a higher power, or believe in positive outcomes even in difficult circumstances.
Peter's attempt to walk on water after Jesus invites him can be seen as a lesson in stepping out of one's comfort zone and taking risks. Today, this can inspire us to take bold actions, pursue our goals, and venture into the unknown despite uncertainties.
Dear Parents/ Carers,
This is a reminder that on Sunday, 13th August, the students from Foundation to Grade 2 ( L / W) are rostered to participate at the 9.00am Parish Mass. It is followed by hosting a morning tea until 11.00am. This is a wonderful initiative to build partnerships between the families and students of St Peter’s Primary School with the parishioners of St Peter’s Parish Church. This is also a school expectation which is a part of our curriculum and brings us together as a Parish and School Community. It is an expectation that parents are with their children during the Mass and the morning tea.
The students will be involved in a variety of jobs prior to Mass and after Mass so it is important that they are present by 8:50 am. Families are invited to bring a plate of morning tea to share with parishioners. Please bring the shared morning tea on a disposable plate or in a clearly named container to the parish hall before 9.00am. We ask no food containing nuts be brought.
Thank you to Mrs Ancilla D'Souza, Mrs Karen Decouto and Ms Shanika Perera for volunteering to coordinate the Morning Tea for us.
Please contact Mrs Ancilla D'Souza, Mrs Karen Decouto and Ms Shanika Perera to discuss what you will be providing for morning tea. We are looking forward to seeing all students and their families together.

We had a whole school Mass on the 8th of August to celebrate the feast day of Saint Mary MacKillop, also known as St. Mary of the Cross. She is our first Australian saint. Saint Mary MacKillop was an Australian nun and the co-founder of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Sacred Heart, a religious congregation dedicated to providing education and social services to the poor and underserved. Her life and work are remembered and honoured on this day by Catholics and others who admire her dedication to serving those in need.
Grade 1/2 L shared a class prayer with the rest of the school during our assembly.
Well done students on presenting a heartfelt prayer that was co-constructed by the class.
Blessings to you and your families !
