The Voice Referendum Guest Talk

On the 3 August, Year 10 Humanities and Year 11 and 12 Legal Studies students had the privilege of attending a lecture hosted by Professor Andrew Gunstone where he provided insightful information about the Voice and its benefits. Throughout the session, Professor Gunstone showed his expertise on this topic as he made references to specific research material and important quotes and events such as the Uluru Statement of the Heart.

Although only lasting 1 hour in length, the session included both a lecture and Q&A component allowing for students whom had specific questions to be answered. The lecture that we were given was both intriguing and highly informative. Overall, the day shone light onto the importance of acknowledging the traditional owners of the land and the significance of allowing the Indigenous community to have a voice. Thank you, Professor Gunstone!!

Year 11 BM Market Research Excursion

On Thursday 3 August, the Units 1/2 Business Management students went to Westfield Fountain Gate to conduct market research for the upcoming Nossal Market Day. The students scouted the vast shopping centre, taking notes on the common marketing strategies used by popular businesses. They also surveyed the general public, including employees in a range of stores, regarding their views on the students' individual market day ideas. The students then critically analysed this gathered information to highlight potential improvements that could be made to their business plans. Based on the data, they were prompted to consider effective marketing strategies and changes which could contribute to the success of their business, such as sustainability considerations and approaches to making their goods and services more appealing to the target market. After completing the set work, the Business Management students indulged in a bit of free time to roam the shopping centre and treat themselves. Overall, it was an insightful and enjoyable experience for everyone, which greatly assisted the students' thorough preparation for Market Day on September 5! Thank you to Mr Sacco for organising the excursion, and Miss Bhola and Miss Kamimura for supervising.
