Nossal Week!

During Week 4, the SRC and School Captains worked tirelessly to bring to life the very first Nossal Week. A Week where the clubs and societies of Nossal came together and held super fun events for everyone to enjoy. There were various activities which staff and students alike got involved in. To start off the week we had house competitions, the KPop Dance Flash Mob, run by the KPop Dance Club, and we had an amazing art stall run by the Webtoon Club. On Tuesday it was the much-awaited SRC+MUGHS Staff vs. Student Cup Pong, following through with the PPT Club’s REAL TALK: Nossal Edition. We also had a really fun dance session with the Bollywood Dance Club and listened to an interesting discussion with Formation. On Wednesday we had the Formation Stall, where they sold crocheted butterflies, friendship bracelets, and face paint. On Thursday we had the Year 12 Staff vs. Student Novelty Competition, where our staff and students went head-to-head in a range of mini activities like tug of war. We also had an entertaining Poetry Slam Competition run by the Creative Writing Club. This was followed up with a delicious bake sale by the Christian Club and an informative session at the NEST Audit too. And to end the week with a bang the SRC held the Staff vs. Student Lip Sync Battle and after an intense competition our Nossal Staff took home gold. We also had our decades free dress day and to top it all off there was a fairy floss stall! 

A little message from a few of the clubs that participated:

SRC: Lip Sync Battle 

The SRC's first ever lip sync battle was a hugely successful event with an amazing turn out of enthusiastic audience members and eager performers. Everyone at Nossal knows how much we enjoy our Staff vs Student events and with no surprise this year's victory was taken very rightfully so by our wonderful English domain team- Empire English. With a total of 73 votes, they dazzled their audience with a spectacular performance of the High School Musical's- We're all in this together! A special shoutout to all competitors for all the effort and time put into practicing and perfecting your performances. From an organizer's point of view, the SRC wants to thank you all for one of the most rewarding and enjoyable events we've ever held. 

MUGHS:

With the collaboration of MUGHS and SRC, we brought to Nossal, The Cup Pong Challenge! The event ran on the Tuesday of Nossal Week filled with pie faces, mystery drinks and sauces, moo offs and fun. Only at Cup Pong, would you have seen Mr Monaco get pied in the face, PE and Maths teachers doing the push up challenge and a Year 10 win against Ms De Zylva in an arm wrestle. We want to thank everyone who came by during the event and we hope you enjoyed yourselves at the cost of your fellow peers and teachers' humiliation!

FORMATION:

During Nossal Week, Formation ran a stall as well as a discussion panel. The aim of the panel was to raise awareness about a range of various issues from various perspectives, which provided good insight on the female perspective and experience. The panel comprised of Dr. Schroor, Ms. Ball, Ms. Loel, Ms. Young, and Mr. Bird. We also sold friendship bracelets and crochet butterflies, raising funds for Share The Dignity, a local Australian Charity whose mission is "giving dignity to women, girls, and those who can menstruate.", aiming to end period poverty. It was a huge success, with many of our peers buying friendship bracelets and crochet butterflies for themselves and their mates. We managed to raise over $200.

Overall Nossal Week was a fun and enjoyable week for all. A week where we got to celebrate our Nossal culture and community!!
