DIVISION AFL

On Monday, our Girl’s AFL team competed in the Kingston District Finals.  They played three games to for the opportunity to play in the grand Final.  Unfortunately, they faced a red hot Black Rock PSm in the first game and lost by 8 points.  We won the next 2 games but had to rely on results to go our way.  Mrs Gill was full of praise for their efforts and sportsmanship.  I would like to make special mention of the Bell family who have been a great support, not just for this particular day, but for the entire season.

On Wednesday, our Mixed AFL team traveled to Baxter Park for the Kingston Division Finals.  We played three preliminary games in which we won two games, 57 - 13 against Bentleigh West PS and 37 to 3 against Valkstone PS.  In our second game we led for most of the game but Parktone PS kicked a goal on the siren to win by one point 5.0 to our 4.5.  Talk about good kicking is good football!  It was definitely the one that got away.  

I would like to thank the support of the parents on the day.  They brought their own atmosphere and our team was very appreciative of it.  Thank you to the Ingrams for the oranges and to Sam and Rowland for their assistance in the coach’s box.  Thanks to Zac and Hugo’s big brothers for their goal umpiring and to Josh for being our runner on the day.  Thank you Stephen for being the timekeeper for the day.  

GYMNASTICS

We have just begun our all school gymnastics program.  From our Preps to our Year 6s, we are jumping over the vaults, learning to tumble and walking the balance beam.  Many thanks to the Flying Wintles and the Acrobatic Ansteys for turning up every morning at 8.25 am to help set up a lot of equipment.
