Year 11 IBDP Core Days

During the Year 12 IBDP and TCE examination period, Year 11 IBDP students will have normal scheduled lessons. The exception to this will be the Core Days which will take place next week from August 15-17. The focus of these days will be our Indigenous Knowledge unit. 

  • Tuesday, August 15 will be the CAS Day (working with YMEP students)
  • Wednesday, August 16 will be the Theory of Knowledge Day (to be held at TMAG)
  • Thursday, August 17 will be the Extended Essay Day

Detailed information will be sent to all families this Friday.

Year 12 IBDP Mock examinations

These have commenced and will continue through until Wednesday, August 16. Students are reminded of the need to be at scheduled examinations at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time. 

 

Theatre and Visual Arts students are reminded that they will have two-hour blocks on Thursday, August 17. Year 12 IBDP Students who do not do these subjects are not required to attend school on this day. 

 

All Year 12 IBDP students will be back in class on Friday, August 18. 

2023 Battle of the Bands

Thursday 31 August - 6pm - 9pm

The 2023 Friends’ School Amnesty Battle of the Bands is being held in The Farrall Centre on Thursday 31 August. The event will commence at 6.00pm and conclude at 9.00pm and will feature student bands from Years 7 – 12. Entry is gold coin donation and soft drinks will be available for purchase with all proceeds going to the schools Amnesty group.

Attending students are to be dropped off and collected from the venue.

 

This is an ‘in house’ event for school students and parents only. Any non-school student/adult arriving will be asked to leave as The Friends’ School cannot accept responsibility for non-Friends’ students. There will be no pass outs and there are to be no bags brought into the venue by students other than that required by the performers.

 

School parents are welcome to attend and will be seated upstairs of the The Farrall Centre, students (Years 7 -12 only) will be situated downstairs. We would love to see you come along and support the students at this evening of musical celebration.
