Year One Term Three 

Welcome to Term Three!

We are extremely excited for another fantastic term of learning. The Level One team would like to take the opportunity to welcome the new families to our school. This term, students will engage in a range of rich experiences to deepen their learning across all curriculum areas. Students will be explicitly taught presentation skills in preparation for our whole school production- we have already started practising and cannot wait to share our performance skills with you! This learning will be enhanced through an Inquiry lens, guided by this unit’s question: “How do we express ourselves?” Furthermore, students will continue developing strategies in Literacy, Numeracy and ‘You Can Do It’, as they build their independence in setting and achieving learning goals. We would also like to extend a warm welcome to Miss Manira Chandrasekhar, who will be working with the Level One team this term as one of 1C’s classroom teachers, as well as working as Level One’s Targeted Student Learning (TSL) teacher. 

Welcome Miss Chandrasekhar!

Hi everyone! My name is Manira, and I am excited to continue my work with the Year One team and the GWPS community. This is my first year of teaching, and it has been wonderful getting to know the Year One students. It has been a pleasure teaching 1C for their literacy lessons and I am excited to continue to support them in their learning. In my spare time, I enjoy going for hikes with my dog, Korra, watching movies, and cooking, especially desserts. I look forward to meeting all of you as the year progresses.
