Year 9

Community Catering

Community Catering is a Year 9 elective that runs over a semester, and its purpose is to connect with the community through food. Over Semester 1, our fantastic class made a variety of items to sell to staff to raise funds for a charity that positively impacts the community.

 These items included:

  • decorated fondant cookies
  • edible gifts for Easter and Mother’s Day
  • sweet treats for IDAHOBIT day celebrations
  • a variety of meals that staff could order for lunch including sausage rolls, pumpkin soup, fried rice and pizza.
  • family sized trays of food that staff could purchase to take home for dinner including lasagna and pasta bakes.

The semester concluded with a high tea style luncheon for our staff where a variety of finger foods were offered, and we could celebrate a successful semester.

Overall, our students raised just over $800 which they have decided to donate to State School Relief and support families in our community.

We are incredibly proud of what our students achieved and the commitment they showed to the program.

We’re looking forward to another successful semester with a new group of students and continuing to positively impact the community.
