Winter Magic Market

Ange Hopkins

Just 5 Days to Go!

Our Annual Winter Magic Market is a special event that brings our whole school community together for a moment of warmth, celebration, creativity and connection. As with any school community event, we could not have a Winter Magic Market without tremendous support from the community who volunteer their time, expertise and energy. Many hands make light work, so we ask that all families consider how they can contribute to this special day.

Our Lovely Leaders... Still need some help...

We have had a good response to our call-out over the last week with families signing up to take the lead and work across most of our stalls. Thank you to all the people who have volunteered to help lead all the aspects of the market so far. The names of the current lead coordinators are in the header of each stall or work area roster. If you have any questions, please contact Ange at ange.hopkins@education.vic.gov.au or call/drop by the front office.

We would still love to see someone head up our Pancake Stall on market day as this is always very popular and would be missed by many if we couldn't staff it this year. Purchasing and food preparation for this will be managed by the school team so really just need a Pancake Principal on Saturday for set up and shift handovers.

Whilst we now have all other coordinators in place, most of them certainly still need some help on the day, particularly (but not exclusively) in the following areas:

  • Saturday Morning Set Up Crew
  • Saturday Evening Pack Up Crew
  • Sunday Morning Pack Up Crew
  • Bar - Saturday Morning Set Up
  • Spit Roast - Serving
  • BBQ - Later Shift Cooking & Serving
  • Pancakes - Set Up & Later Shift Cooking & Serving
  • Curries - Later Shift Serving
  • Treat Stall - Set Up and Later Shift Fairy Floss Makers
  • Second-Hand Toy Stall - Supervising Senior Students

WMM Roster - sign-up here)

If you haven't already, please consider getting a group of friends together to work on one of our fabulous food stalls, or pitching in to help with set up and pack down will be very much appreciated. Signing up for a two-hour shift will give you a prime position to see the joy our market can foster and to make some fantastic friends from within and across the community.

Wristbands for Kids' Activities & Rides

Pre-purchase your Winter Magic Market Activities Wristbands here for $25 each pre-sale and collect them from the Ticket Booth on the day.

If your family is in receipt of CESF funds held at the school, please choose the concession option at $20 each.

One $25 Activities wristband = Six hours of inflatable fun - Otherwise $30 on the day or $5 per single ride - Available from the Ticketbooth Stall

We will have some fun activities including Meltdown, Wipe Out, Fire rescue and a Mirror Maze on the oval, and something special for the smallest people on the basketball court.

There will be 5 different activities. Four are suitable for smaller primary school-aged children, three will be suitable for small or young children with parent support. If you are in the position to be able to, please consider making an additional donation to support other families to purchase a wristband. We always try to make the market as inclusive as possible but acknowledge it can be an expensive day out.

Pre-purchasing a wristband is simply a donation towards the school's main fundraising event which comes with a heap of fun for your kids. The pre-purchases reduce queues on the day and help us to offset all the costs of bringing in fun inflatables and other important equipment for the Winter Magic Market.
