Grade 5 News

The Grade 5’s have all written there own picture story books after our author study on Jackie French. 

They each selected a real topic to create a book about, drafted their piece and published with illustrations. 

Our next step is to read these to a junior grade and entertain them with our word choice and pictures.

As part of respectful relationships we have explored when and who to seek help from. 

As we get older we start to become more independent in solving problems. There are however times when it is important to seek the assistance of others such as a friend or an adult. 

We looked at scenarios and grouped them according to how they could be handled.

In maths we are focussing on fractions. Students created their own fraction walls to help compare fractions and look at equivalent fractions.
