Science and Engineering Challenge

On Thursday, Week 9 (23rd June), a group of 21 St Philip's College Year 9-10 students and two teachers (Ms Andrea Collins and Ms Jenni Frank) went to Centralian Middle School to compete in an interschool Science and Engineering Challenge day.

The activities were organised by the University of Newcastle’s Science & Engineering team.

Scientists, engineers, and community volunteers helped to supervise the eight activities giving the students a chance to ask questions about careers in Science and Engineering.

St Philip's College finished third overall. A highlight of the day was a bridge created by Lene Clarsen-Walters, Vivienne Murray and Chloe Chavez which held over 3 kilograms of weight.
