Learning and Teaching

End of Term Two, 2022

St Louis de Montfort's Learning in Action

This term has flown by and our focus for this term has been History, Digital Technologies and the Ethical Capability. We were lucky enough to be able to open our doors to the Community on Wednesday and we were so excited to see the many families that were able to attend. Our children were very happy to show their work and explicitly share all that they had been doing throughout the term.

Each class showcased something different. In Prep they displayed their robots and their Wow Writing samples. I have been lucky enough to witness the creative minds of our young students. In Year One, Dioramas were created related to all different Fairytales and puppet shows were displayed.  The children were so proud of their work. In Year Two anyone who entered the doors stepped back in time. The costumes were well designed and I can only imagine the thought that went into them at home.

Our middle schools celebrated learning in style. The use of the Scratch program on the Chrome Books was in action for all to view. Dreamtime stories, Historical Narratives and the use of the area model to solve multiplication equations were displayed.

In the senior school, imaths investigations were on display. This has been a focus for the first semester where our students have been questioning, exploring and engaging in problem solving. Historical Narratives and slide shows of the Decades past were shown and their Saints projects were discussed with enthusiasm.

Thank you for the continued support we receive from all of our families. Our partnership continues to grow and our learning and teaching is alive!
