On Tuesday 14th June, the Year 3/4 students made their First Reconciliation. It was a beautiful night that was celebrated in our Church with their families. Thanks to all the parents for their help in getting the students ready for this special evening.
Thank you also to Mrs Belinda Sposato and Miss Isabelle Maher for their help in preparing the students at school and for their assistance on the night.
I enjoyed hearing their recollections of the night and about their family celebrations that were had afterwards. I received comments like:
" I felt so light and I had no more sins"
"I was so happy and now I feel so much better"
"I was glad that I remembered all the prayers"
" Fr John helped me when I forgot what to say"
"We had cake when we got home"
"We all went out for a family dinner to celebrate"
Many thanks,
Michele Witchell ( REL)
On Wednesday 22nd June, the Year 3/4 students continued their faith journey and began their preparation for First Eucharist. The parents attended a First Eucharist Workshop facilitated by Fr Elio Capra. The parents stayed in one room and Fr Elio addressed them, while the students went into another room and completed an art activity. Fr Elio was not only engaging and entertaining but also provided us with some valuable knowledge about First Eucharist. We were blessed and grateful that Fr Elio shared his insights and theological understandings in a way that was accessible for all and in a meaningful way.
A beautiful night was had by all. Thanks to Miss Maher for her assistance with the art activity and to Mr Stead for his help and support on the night. Many thanks to all the parents who attended the evening ( second week running as we had First Reconciliation last week)
Please keep all these beautiful Year 3/4 students in your prayers as they prepare for their First Eucharist in August.

Last week all the student wrote the most beautiful prayer cards for Sr Jeanne. Their words of sadness and loss were so heartfelt and sincere yet also full gratitude and love that Sr Jeanne was part of our school community. They acknowledged all the amazing work she did for those in need and how kind she was to everyone. These cards were presented to the Sisters of St Joseph and became part of the offertory procession at her funeral on Tuesday. A number of staff attended the funeral mass and the presence of the
"Yarraville people" was certainly felt. The Sisters of St Joseph were very touched by our gesture and commented on how beautiful the cards were. Miss Paglianiti was our representative who took up the prayer cards during offertory. Let us make it our mission to continue Sr Jeanne's legacy by always trying to help those in need and make a difference in their lives, no matter how big or small. We will all miss Sr Jeanne dearly.
