Emerald & Garnet Communities

Emerald and Garnet Communities have had a busy term two. Through this term we have been inquiring into Personal Identity and thinking about the similarities and differences in family structures and family histories of us all in Emerald. We have loved learning about different countries and cultures. We have been researching and writing information reports about countries and celebrations, sharing our learning with each other. 

We enjoyed a visit from Alpha Shows where we watched ‘The Sleeping Beauty’. For many of the children, it was their first live performance as an audience member - very exciting!! 

Another focus for Emerald and Garnet has been the students understanding their learning goals, particularly their Reading Goals. We have been learning about developing a ‘Growth Mindset’, challenging ourselves and being aware of strategies for achieving our goals. We have been learning  to give each other feedback on our learning goals. We all have a reading buddy to share our reading with and discuss our progress with our goals. We are all proud of our efforts and achievements in Emerald and Garnet!
