Visual Arts

The art room has been a hive of activity this semester with students at TSPS showing just how creative they are! Our Prep students have been exploring texture in clay through the creation of their own clay plate. They have also been busy collaging, drawing and painting. Students in 1/2 have created beautiful sunflower watercolour paintings, drawn detailed lines and patterns on wooden Australian animals, and constructed bright, colourful bird sculptures using mixed media. Year 3/4 students have produced colourful mixed media artworks. They have also been learning sewing skills, designing and sewing their own soft toy using felt. Our 5/6 students designed and hand built terracotta clay dragons. They then looked at the artworks of a range of contemporary Australian artists and painted their own acrylic artwork. It has been wonderful seeing our students taking so much pride in their creations.
