LOTE (Mandarin)
2022’s Mandarin program had a festive start with the celebration of the Lunar New Year and our annual Chinese Dress Up Day. It was nice to see lots of tiger costumes, red outfits and some beautiful Chinese dresses. We also had fun taking our school’s dragon out for a parade through all the communities. Some of the highlights from the classroom were: Grade 56s eating Tangyuan the sticky rice balls to celebrate the Latern Fesitval; Grade 34s exploring cultural roots and writing their names in Chinese using the brushpen; Grade 12s learning about the Chinese Zodiac animals and some of the cultural meanings behind each zodiac and the Preps having the taste of learning about Chinese culture and language through lots of singing and stories. Well done everyone, for your enthusiasm in using the language as well as your interests in learning!
