Cross Country Trials
It was a pleasing result to see so many people interested in competing in the School Cross Country trials. We will be sending a large host of students from our school to their selective Zone trials at both PSSA and CHS levels. A special mention to Ricky Griffiths and Noah Hunt on completing the 2km course in under 8 minutes. We wish the best of luck to those competing at the next level.
Rugby League
On the 31 May our U14's and Opens will compete in the Rugby League 7's Gala day at Inverell. The boys are keen and raring to go having trained religiously leading up to the previous Gala day which was unfortunately postponed. Uralla Central School is expecting excellent results from this gala day due to the large amounts of zone representatives from the school.
School Athletics Carnival
The athletics carnival, held at Uralla Sporting Complex, was a great success this year. We would like to thank the Uralla Council for doing such a great job in preparing the complex for us. Students arrived ready and raring to go in their house colours. Though it was a balmy 10 degrees with a windchill of what felt like -50, it did not slow the rate at which students jumped to participate in any and every event possible, many coming to me often to see what they could do next. The passion and excitement to get involved in their annual athletics carnival was great to see.
We would also like to thank all the staff, parents and carers who came to watch and support throughout the day. It is always great to see the community getting together in such a way.
A special mention of Zachary Boland, who managed to break another high jump record with a huge 1.64m and a personal best. With a bit more work, the dreaded 1.70m will be in his grasp. What a fantastic effort!
