Poultry Show Success

On Sunday 20 May the Armidale and District Poultry Club held their annual show at the Armidale Showgrounds. Leading up to this event, student Jamie Nordstrom and myself held a chicken preparation lesson during lunch time that was attended by a small group of girls that have a keen interest in poultry. The girls were taught how to trim facial feathers, clean legs and wash some of the School's Silver-laced Wyandottes. These birds were then entered in the junior section of the show and were awarded 'Junior Heavy Softfeather Large' Champion. Congratulations to the students that were involved in the preparation of these hens and a special thank you to the Nordstrom family for their help in preparing and entering the birds.

Farewell Robbie

Last week the school said goodbye to Roberta Sanna, our exchange student from Italy.  Robbie had been at the school for almost a year.  In celebration of Robbie's time at Uralla Central School, an olive tree common to her Mediterranean homeland was planted in the senior student school area.  Robbie was an outstanding member of our learning community who truly embraced the concept of Standing tall and Walking proud! Ciao Robbie.  You will be missed by us all!
