Launching a NEW Israeli culture program @ GEC

Sabra - Israeli culture program
Glen Eira College will be offering Hebrew as a school language program option, to Year 7 students in 2020.
For students currently at GEC we are proposing a new Israeli Culture program at GEC after school - Sabra.
We are now calling for registration for Sabra to begin in term 3.

Taught by trained UJEB teachers, Sabra will be open to students of years 7-10 and will take place on Tuesdays from 3:30 - 5:00pm . The cost is $200 per term, including light refreshments.
Sabra - Israeli culture program - course outline
Meeting weekly students will learn basic conversational and experience Israeli culture through interactive activities, modern Israeli music and movies.
Students will learn about current affairs, Israeli personalities, geographic features, sport, school students in Israel, the cultural melting pot, Israeli minorities, peace process basics, Israeli food and much more. Conversational Hebrew will focus on vocabulary, focusing on situations they will find themselves in while travelling in Israel. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
Ordering food in a restaurant
Getting around on public transport
Shopping at the mall
Meeting the family
Street signs and maps
The Israeli culture program prepares students for a more personal and connected experience when they visit Israel.
