Japanese Immersion
Year 7 students in the Japanese Immersion class completed a task about the periodic table and state of matters. Students had to choose one element and describe the element in both English and Japanese.
Similarly, Year 8 students created presentations about a substance of their choice. They had to categorise the matter and analyse the number of elements and atoms in their substance as well as common uses of that substance. They then constructed models of their substance and presented these to the class, all in Japanese!

As part of learning about the human nervous system and it’s ability to detect and respond to our environment, students were given the opportunity to study the structure and function of the eye. Through being able to directly touch, feel and observe a cow’s eye during our dissection students were able to appreciate the important role of the eye in receiving information from the world around us. A great job was done all round.
