Principal's Report

11th October 2019

Welcome Back

A warm welcome back to all our families and students for Term 4. I trust you all had a relaxing holiday break. Term 4 is always very busy and we have many events and activities to look forward to such a Year 6 Graduation, transition days, class parties, exciting incursions and excursions, and as always a lot more learning.

School Review

Next week the school commences a review which each school is required to complete every 4 years. The purpose of the review is to examine, discuss and analyse the school results, climate, opinion data and many other aspects to determine where our school is doing well, and the areas to improve or keep working on. As well as school staff, visiting principals are involved in the review together with our school council president Marianne Ng. We look forward to sharing the outcome of the review with you later in the term.

Class Placement Requests for 2020

Later this term teachers will begin creating classes for 2020. The teachers consider friendship groups, student personalities, academic levels and many other factors when putting classes together. If you have a request regarding the placement of your child into a class for 2020 please put it in writing and drop it off to the office . Or you can email me directly on ramsey.michael.j@edumail.vic.gov.au by Friday 18th October.

Requests must only be for significant reasons that must be detailed in writing or email. Requests for specific teachers will not be considered. If you have made a request before and you think it is still relevant, please do so again.

Please note all students choose a maximum of 5 friends they would like to be in a class with for next year. Teachers will ensure students are placed with at least one friend from the list they have provided. Parents NO NOT need to write a list of friends their students would like to be with.

In cases where parent requests contradict each other, teachers will use their judgement and knowledge of the student to make a decision regarding class placement.

Students will be informed of their new class for 2020 towards the end of the term. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
