Principal's Message

Dear Families,

On Wednesday 15th March, we opened our doors to new families during Galilee Open Day. It was a huge success with over 90 new families attending the day. Many new families commented positively on our wonderful school and our amazing students.

Thank you to everyone who made Galilee Open Day a success - the students, the teachers, Brighid Fahy and Holly Evans our School Community Leaders and our wonderful parents who prepared a fabulous morning tea.

Over the next week we have much to look forward to. This Friday is Galilee Athletics Day, with all of our students representing their House Team in different Athletics events. Due to the number of children/staff/volunteers and events taking place on the track and field, we ask that you cheer from the sidelines. Thank you Shaun Tobin for organising the day.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday evening many of our Year 3 students will be participating in the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. Reconciliation is a wonderful Sacrament about mercy and healing broken relationships with God and with others. Please keep our Year 3 students in your prayers as they prepare for this special Sacrament.

Our Year 4 students are off to camp on Wednesday and will return on Friday. They will participate in a camp at Angelsea which sounds like a wonderful camp. While they are away, students will have the opprotunity to challenge themselves in a variety of different activities.  We look forward to sharing the news from camp in our newsletter next week.

Thank you for another wonderful week at Galilee.

Change of Photo Date

The school photos will now occur on Thursday 20th April.  All students will be required to be in full summer uniform.  If your child has sport on this day, they can bring their runners and change into them.

Year 4 Camp

On Wednesday March 22, Year 4 students will leave for their camp at 9am but must be at school by 8.30 to ensure prompt departure time. They will need their snack, lunch and reusable drink bottle in a small backpack. Please label all items being taken to camp.

Medication from 5/6 Camp

There is still some medication to be collected from the office that was taken to the Year 5/6 camp last week (excludes medication that is normally stored at the school).

Fees

A reminder to qualify for the $200 discount, fees must be paid in full by Friday 31st March. If paying by online banking, please remember to deduct $200 before paying, e.g.: fees total $2,500 only pay $2,300. The remaining $200 will be wiped from your account after March 31.

Early Pick-up Times

When collecting your child/children before 3.25pm, it is preferred you collect them at 1.40pm or 2.30pm to minimise disruptions to classes. We understand in some circumstances you will have to collect them outside of these times.
